The cold earth slept below

The cold earth slept below;                       차가운 대지가 아래 잠자고 있었다
Above the cold sky shone;                        위에는 차가운 하늘이 빛났다
And all around,                                        그리고 온 사방엔
With a chilling sound,                                으스스한 소리와 함께
From caves of ice and fields of snow          얼음의 동굴과 눈 덮인 들로부터
The breath of night like death did flow         밤의 숨이 죽음처럼 불었다
Beneath the sinking moon.                        가라앉는 달 아래에서.

The wintry hedge was black;                     겨울의 산울타리는 검었다
