Contorted by wind,                    바람에 의해 비틀어진 채
mere armatures for ice or snow, 눈이나 얼음을 위한 틀에 불과해진
the trees resolve                       나무들은
to endure for now,                     당분간 인내하겠다고 결심한다

they will leaf out in April.            그것들은 4월에 잎이 날 것이다.
And I must be as patient            그리고 나도 그 나무들처럼
as the trees?                           인내심 가져야 한다 -
a winter resolution                    겨울의 결심

I break all over again,                나는 또다시 (그 결심이) 무너진다
as the cold presses                  차가움이
its sharp blade                         그 날카로운 칼날을
against my throat.                     내 목에 갖다 댈 때.
