A man who keeps a diary, pays           일기를 쓰는 사람은
Due toll to many tedious days;             지루한 나날들에 꼬박 정성을 바친다
But life becomes eventful--then           그러나 삶에 일이 많아지고, 그러면
His busy hand forgets the pen.            그의 바쁜 손은 펜을 잊는다
Most books, indeed, are records less   대부분의 책은, 사실, 가득함보다는
